A pulled thread can ruin the look of your knit wear, but don’t despair as help is at hand through VideoJug. Take a look at this film showing you exactly how to rescue the situation and fix that snag in your jumper.
- Step 1:
-
You will need
-
- 1 large blunt needle
- Step 2:
-
Stop the buckling
- A thread that has snagged will have pulled the material around it out of shape. Gently stretch the jumper back into shape. Some of the yarn should go back in to the jumper as you do this.
- Step 3:
-
Disperse the thread
- If there is a loose thread left over turn the jumper inside out, and pull the thread back through to the reverse side. Try to smooth the snag out again. Then use a blunt needle to pull the thread through to the next stitch, and then the next, dispersing the excess along the row.
Repeat this on the other side of the snag, dispersing the excess thread in the other direction.
- Step 4:
-
Keep working at it
- When you have gone all the way along both sides of the pulled thread, go over the row again, repeatedly teasing the thread back into position. Keep going until you are happy with the result.
- Step 5:
-
Smooth
- Finally turn the jumper the right way out, and smooth out the pulled area.
