This weeks challenge is hilarious, we get to see Chris March again and he lets us all know the designers will be designing outfits for Drag Queens. The designers are give 30 minutes to consult with their clients and then 20 minutes to shop. Our guest judge this week is Ru Paul a legendary Drag Queen. The shining stars this week were Terri, Joe, & Korto and our bottom feeders were Keith, Jerrel & Daniel. In the end tonight’s winner is Joe and he gets immunity, meanwhile we FINALLY say goodbye to Daniel! Next week should be interesting and a make or break for Stella if she does bad.
Tonight’s show gets right to the nitty gritty and the designers learn they will be designing for none other than Brooke Shields. The challenge is to work as a team of two to design a look for her character Wendy Healy on Lipstick Jungle but there wont be any immunity. They were all given 30 minutes to sketch and then they had an opportunity to pitch their design to Brooke Shields. Only six designer were chosen for this challenge and the lucky leaders were Keith, Korto, and Jerrel, Kelly, Terri, and Blayne, the winner this week will have the privilege of their design being worn on next season’s Lipstick Jungle, NICE! The teams went as follows Blayne & Leanne, Keith & Kenley, Terri & Suede, Korto & Joe, Kelly & Daniel, and then Jerrel & Stella. Man oh Man this week the designers were looking like chickens with heads cut off. I really think a lot of people are in trouble because some of this tackiness and lack of talent is NOT going to fly in the weeks to come. This weeks shining stars were Jerrel & Stella deservingly and Kennely & Keith. While Kelly and Daniel did a terribly tacky job the outfit was poorly executed and Blayne and Leanne crashed because their outfit was dull and not made according to the challenge requirements. Keith and Kenley were the winners of this weeks challenge and in the end we had to say goodbye to Kelly for her lack of taste and craftsmanship…although Blayne needs to watch his mouth and step his game up because he may be next. Next week looks humorously interesting, See Ya There!
This weeks episode was very patriotic, we find out that their challenge is to create the an outfit for the olympic teams in the opening ceremony and we also learn that Apolo Ohno, the Olympic Gold Medalist for speed skating, is going to be a guest judge. The gang does their regular shopping excursion, with a $150 budget this time, and people are starting to change and get catty. Daniel and Kenley seem to be annoying their fellow designers when they have too much fun, lol. Maybe it’s just me but Joe seems to be such a whiny child this episode, I mean really who cares what machine you work on get it together people…most hilarious part is him calling everyone else queens, lol. So..I can’t understand some of these outfits came to light, I mean it’s for the olympics why are we making pencil skirts, black outfits, and then to top it off why would Jennifer not use blue, white and RED??? I absolutely love Terri’s design, Korto rocked it once again, and I really like Joe’s design because it really was sporty and actually went according to the challenge. Jennifer of course was blast by the judges, Daniel looked like he was going to cry on stage, and Jerrel who knew what he was thinking, lol…it was cute though in a costume sense. The winner of this challenge was Korto, I know she was extremely relieved and proud…but sadly tonight we had to say goodbye to Jennifer…ah well anyway Next week looks quite interesting! See Ya There!
On tonight’s Project Runway, the gang gets a “night on the town” with Tim Dunn where they find out they’ll be on a tour bus in the rain, which will inspire their next challenge to make an outfit that embodies the epitome of a night on the town in New York. They split up into groups where they cover four major areas of new york city and take pictures to inspire their designs, Suede Daniel, Leanne and -Columbia Circle; Stella, Kenley, Blayne, and Keith get Times Square; Korto, Kelly, Joe-New York Library Of Congress;Terri Emily Jerrel- Grenwich Village. The gang gets together and has 30 minutes to choose a picture of their liking and they finally get to go shopping for their own fabric at mood….some seem more frazzled than others, which was stranger for people who have considered themselves designers. One of the highlight so the show has to be Tim Dunn attempting to say “Holla Atcha Boy” hilarious! Sadly Keith has a “Make it work” moment when his model had to drop out so he was forced to refit his outfit. Tonight’s guest judge was Sandra Bernhard from Rosanne. The shining stars of tonight were Kenley, Terri, and Leanne. While Keith, Emily, and Jennifer definitely missed the boat. And the winner is….Kenley! leaving Emily as the loser, which honestly she deserved since she clearly disregarded Tim Dunn’s advice to “Make It Work”! All in all I’m looking forward to next week, see ya there.
On tonight’s Project Runway, the second episode of season five…the designers begin with picking their models and a bit of trading goes on and we say good bye to Belle the model to be. This weeks challenge involves each designers chosen model acting as their clients and the designers have to make them a cocktail dress using only green fabrics, which are environmental friendly materials….to make it harder the models/clients get to buy the fabric with their $75 budget and 30 minutes to shop. As I watch the show I wish they would send Stella home she complains far too much and lacks the skills to be diversified. Suede is innovative but I wish he wouldn’t talk about himself in third person. Many of the designers share the same fabrics so they’re fighting to make them look different. Tim lets them know that there is no immunity for this challenge but the winner will get their dress sold on bluefly.com. This week’s guest judge was Natalie Portman, who has launch a vegan shoe collection so this challenge is up her alley. Our shining stars were Kenley and Suede while Wesley, Korto, and Leanne were not so lucky. In the end Suede was the winner of this challenge, well deserved….while the bottom two were Leanne and Wesley, in the end Wesley was sent home.
